Property package

This package combines natural, architectural, boundary and infrastructure information about specific properties to highlight potential property and planning issues. It should be used before the planning process commences as it provides helpful information which can save time and money at the start of a development.

Listed buildings

Many buildings and monuments are given listed building status because of their special architectural or historical importance. This information layer displays the locations and grades of these specially conserved structures.

    Built heritage

This information layer displays the location and status of scheduled monuments, world heritage sites, parks and gardens and battlefields. Planning and development restrictions apply according to the grade they have been given.

    • Scheduled monuments
    • World heritage sites
    • Parks and gardens
    • Battlefields

    Conservation areas

The Town and Country Planning Act 1990 requires borough councils to identify areas of special architectural or historic importance and then designate them as conservation areas. This information layer displays the locations of these designated areas.

      Boundaries

This information layer displays all levels of electoral and administrative boundaries, from parish level to parliamentary, assembly and European constituencies.

      • Parishes
      • Ward
      • Electoral division
      • Constituencies (with Member of Parliament name and website link)
      • Local authority district (with UDP/LDF website link)
      • County

      Postcodes

This information layer displays the three levels of postcode boundaries found in the UK. Individual postcode units cover local areas such as individual streets, postcode districts cover larger areas such as parts of cities and postcode areas cover larger regions like the cities themselves.

      • Postcodes
      • Postcode districts
      • Postcode areas

      Protected views

This layer is a hazard map, composed of all the recorded protected views defined by local and regional authorities in Great Britain. This map shows the degree to which protected views overlap, and subsequently how they affect planning in a given area.

        Crossrail

Crossrail is the new East – West rail line across central London. Crossrail 2 (the Chelsea – Hackney line) is also proposed. The lines, which are designed to reduce travel congestion and disruption, are comprised of overground and underground sections of track. Development of the track means that the areas surrounding it are subject to additional planning restrictions. This information layer shows the extent of the areas affected, with links to the Crossrail website which displays plans of the exact routes.
