Measure an area or a line

To measure the length of a line or area of a shape (polygon) on the map area, use the 'Line or Shape' tool from the 'Draw' part of the toolbar. When you draw with this tool the dimensions of your line or shape display under the 'Measure' part of the toolbar. Use the drop down list within the toolbar to change the measurements between various metric and imperial units. To view the dimensions of any line or shape you have previously drawn use the 'Select object' tool within the 'Measure' part of the toolbar.

Label a measurement

You can add labels to your annotation showing the dimensions of a selected line or shape (polygon) by clicking the green 'Aa' symbol located next to each dimension value displayed under the 'Measure' part of the toolbar. This will bring up the standard text editing options.

Measure a map shape on the FIND background

To find the area of a predefined shape (polygon) on the FIND map layer, select the 'Info' tool from the 'Map view' panel and click on the map feature you would like to determine the area of. Then select 'FIND map area' from the drop down list. This highlights the selected map feature in orange and displays the area in both hectares and acres on the 'Layer information' panel.
